Yet another appalling delay for Gaelscoil Choláiste Mhuire on Parnell Square
There has been yet another delay for Gaelscoil Choláiste Mhuire in the development of their new school building.
News came through during the week that the commitment to complete the detailed design (stage 2B) by first week of December was not met.
- New commitment is for end of January.
- Added to that, the timing for going out to tender (after the design phase) has also been stretched out from four weeks to eight weeks.
This might not seem like much, but this school has been dealing with failed deadline after failed deadline for years now.
In the Seanad this week, we highlighted how there are just four other schools longer in temporary private rented accommodation in this State- and three of those are less than half the pupil size of Coláiste Mhuire. We obtained this data through freedom of information from the Department.
It is appalling the wait that this school has had to endure.
