Statement on Bus Collision on North Earl Street, Dublin 1

Labour TD for Dublin Central, Marie Sherlock has expressed her deep sadness at the devastating news that one person has died and three others have been injured in a serious bus collision on North Earl Street, Dublin 1.

Deputy Sherlock said:

“I want to express my deepest condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of the individual who passed away this afternoon in this tragic incident on North Earl Street this afternoon. My thoughts are with those who were injured in this awful incident, their loved ones who are anxiously awaiting news, and express my sincere wishes for their recovery. I am thinking too of those who have witnessed this distressing incident.

“I want to thank sincerely and send my solidarity to the members of An Garda Síochána, Dublin Fire Brigade, the ambulance service, our local hospitals, and all first responders who responded to this incident.

“Thousands of people from all walks of life travel along this street every day to move across our city. That this street has become the scene of such a tragedy is devastating.

“I ask that people follow Dublin Fire Brigade’s request to avoid sharing images of the scene.
